Even prior to the pandemic, organizations were embracing Chromebooks at a rapid rate. At the beginning of 2019, there were more than 30 million Chromebooks in use by K-12 students alone. The fact is, Chromebooks are ubiquitous in schools, the public sector and even enterprises.

Unfortunately, like other platforms that have achieved widespread adoption, Chromebooks now have the attention of attackers and present significant cybersecurity risk. An increase in usage has brought increases in threats including:

  • Phishing attacks resulting in stealing the identity of the user/student;
  • Network attacks where personal/student information is accessed; and
  • Malicious malware in apps taking control of microphones and cameras remotely turned on and other privacy-invasive actions.

Watch our on-demand webinar wherein our experts discuss:

  • Why states and educational institutions use Chromebooks;
  • Cyber threat challenges and concerns Chromebook users face; and
  • What can be done to protect Chromebook users, including K-12 students.

Speakers:

  • Karen Jackson  |  Former Virginia Secretary of Technology, Current Advocate for Cybersecurity in Education
  • Chul Yim  |  Sr. Director of State, Local and Education, Zimperium
